Galaxy Nexus On Sale In London Tomorrow (17 Nov)

The Oxford

Street store in London of Phones4U will be the

first place in the world that will sell the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, from 8am

tomorrow morning, 17 November.

The phone shop has just announced the exclusive deal to sell

the first ever Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) handset, at its flagship store at 112/114 Oxford Street

in London, with doors opening at 8am.

Phones4U told us that the first 100 customers will get £250

worth of vouchers for free music, movies and other content. The shop will even

provide breakfast for those queuing outside the store and Samsung will have demonstrators on hand to show you everything you need to know.

The Samsung Galaxy

Nexus has a 4.65in high-definition sAMOLED Contour Display with a 1280 x 720

resolution – a first for a smartphone. It has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor which, combined with a sizeable

1GB of RAM, should ensure the Galaxy Nexus is searingly fast. The device is

thinner than the Nexus S, at just under 9mm thick but weighs a little more, at

135g.

Its rear cameras has a

five megapixel sensor and is capable of shooting 1080p video. Samsung claims it has no shutter

lag, includes autofocus, takes decent low-light photos as

well as time-lapse video. It also has some very impressive shooting modes

including panorama and live effects akin to the photo booth app we’ve seen for

years on Macs.

The phone will

come in 16GB and 32GB versions, the latter option being a first for Android

devices.

Phones4U will be offering the Galaxy Nexus for ‘free’ from

£46-a-month, or for £29.95 on a £41-a-month tariff, on a choice of networks.
