Street store in London of Phones4U will be the
first place in the world that will sell the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, from 8am
tomorrow morning, 17 November.
The phone shop has just announced the exclusive deal to sell
the first ever Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) handset, at its flagship store at 112/114 Oxford Street
in London, with doors opening at 8am.
Phones4U told us that the first 100 customers will get £250
worth of vouchers for free music, movies and other content. The shop will even
provide breakfast for those queuing outside the store and Samsung will have demonstrators on hand to show you everything you need to know.
The Samsung Galaxy
Nexus has a 4.65in high-definition sAMOLED Contour Display with a 1280 x 720
resolution – a first for a smartphone. It has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor which, combined with a sizeable
1GB of RAM, should ensure the Galaxy Nexus is searingly fast. The device is
thinner than the Nexus S, at just under 9mm thick but weighs a little more, at

five megapixel sensor and is capable of shooting 1080p video. Samsung claims it has no shutter
lag, includes autofocus, takes decent low-light photos as
well as time-lapse video. It also has some very impressive shooting modes
including panorama and live effects akin to the photo booth app we’ve seen for
years on Macs.
The phone will
come in 16GB and 32GB versions, the latter option being a first for Android
Phones4U will be offering the Galaxy Nexus for ‘free’ from
£46-a-month, or for £29.95 on a £41-a-month tariff, on a choice of networks.
