Fujitsu Amilo GraphicsBooster Update Negates Second Monitor

Laptop's own display now able to benefit from external GPU.

Fujitsu’s Amilo GraphicBooster is undoubtedly a funky bit of kit – despite being frustratingly limited to just the Amilo Sa 3650 notebook – and the latest (beta) update for it just enhances that point. Fujitsu’s engineers have tweaked the GraphicBooster drivers such as the external GPU can now output to the laptop’s own display.

Previously only an external screen could be powered by the GraphicBooster, which while still useful is still a potentially annoying limitation. As the video above shows, the beta update, which hasn’t yet been made available, enables the GraphicBooster to power the Sa 3650’s own display, without taking a noticeable performance hit – negating the need for an external display and the additional cost thereof.

Whether external monitors can also be powered, as was previously possible, in this cross-display mode is unclear. It would be a shame if the GraphicBooster managed to fix one limitation, only to introduce another.
