Fujifilm has launched two new camera models for its 2013 range: the Fujifilm S8400W bridge camera and the outdoorsman’s compact Fujifilm FinePix XP200.
The rugged Fujifilm FinePix XP200 is an ultra-resilient waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dustproof compact, while the 16-megapixel Fujifilm S8400W offers a 44x optical zoom and 0.3 second autofocus speeds.
Fujifilm FinePix XP200 Features
Building on the success of Fujifilm’s previous rugged models, like the Fujifilm XP150, the Fujifilm FinePix XP200 offers a 16-megapixel CMOS image sensor and 5x optical zoom within its resilient casing with a 10fps shooting mode and Shift Image Stabilisation.
Capable of withstanding drops of up to 2m and temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius, the Fujifilm FinePix XP200 is also dustproof and waterproof to depths of 15m thanks to its hardy design, which offers additional grip and easily accessible buttons, even when wearing thick gloves.
Viewing images or Full 1080p HD videos taken with the Fujifilm FinePix XP200 is possible using the bright 3-inch 920k-dot LCD screen, fitted with an anti-reflective coating for visibility in bright sunlight. An ISO range of 100 to 6400 also makes the rugged compact suitable for low-light conditions.
The inbuilt Wi-Fi connectivity make it easy for users to transfer their footage and photos to their smartphone, tablet or PC, and the option to back up their memories using the Fujifilm PC AutoSave PC software that makes a copy of content over a Wi-Fi connection. The dedicated Fujifilm Camera application can be downloaded for free to transfer pictures to tablets and smartphones in 30 photo batches.
Fujifilm S8400 Features
The long bridge zoom Fujifilm S8400W also has built in Wi-Fi connectivity, but also packs a huge 24mm wide-angle Fujinon 44x Super zoom lens and a 16-megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor capable of ISO levels as high as 12800. Fast autofocus speeds of as little as 0.3 seconds and shot intervals of 0.5 seconds will mean it is difficult to miss a shot, especially when the Fujifilm S8400W also offers 10fps continuous shooting speeds for up to 10 frames at full resolution.
The Fujifilm S8400W also packs ultra-high-speed shooting of up to 60fps for 60 1280 x 960p frames and 120fps for 60 shots at 640 x 480p for slow-motion action capture.
Capable of capturing Full HD movies at 1080p resolution at a rate of 60fps with stero sound and a slow-motion capture option of 480fps, the video function from the Fujifilm S8400W also lets you take still images simultaneously.
Powered by 4 AA batteries, the Fujifilm S8400 also plays host to an 201k-dot electronic viewfinder, a 3-inch LCD screen, manual exposure modes, twin zoom levers and 360 Motion Panoramic shooting options.
