ViewSonic has announced the launch of four new ViewPad tablets at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona.

The first of these, the ViewPad G70 is a new seven-inch tablet that will come with Google’s Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and further skinned with the company’s proprietary ViewScene 3D user interface.

Supplied with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage, the G70’s 7in screen has a resolution of 1,024x600 pixels with 8-bit colour depth and a 500:1 contrast ratio. Available as a Wi-Fi only tablet, the G70 does offer Bluetooth connectivity along with mini HDMI, microUSB and miniUSB ports. Expected in Q2 the G70 is set to retail for around £260.

Complementing the G70 is the more budget-orientated ViewPad E70. This also comes with 7in screen and ICS skinned with ViewScene 3D, but will undoubtedly cut some corners on hardware costs in order to make its budget price point. There’s no concrete word on screen resolution yet, but ViewSonic has confirmed it’ll come with a 1GHz processor.

The big draw for many, however, will be the low, low price, with ViewSonic confirming it’ll cost less than £129 at launch. Will this be enough to make it a potential rival to the Amazon Kindle Fire? We’ll need to wait and see, but comparisons are sure to be made.

The third tablet in the new range is the 9.7in ViewPad E100 (below). As with the G70 and E70, this will run Android 4.0 and ViewScene 3D out of the box, further benefitting from a 1,024 x 768-pixel IPS display with LED backlighting and a 1GHz Cortex processor. The E100 will be available in Wi-Fi only and 3G versions, both of which will also offer Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity along with mini HDMI, micro USB and mini USB ports.

Due to be released in Q2, the Wi-Fi only model will cost under £260, with the 3G version set to cost less than £325.

Rounding things off is the Windows 7 powered ViewPad P100 (below). This will come with a 10in 1,280 x 800 IPS display and be powered by a Intel N2600 dual-core processor running at 1.6GHz. Expecting to launch in Q2, the Wi-Fi only P100 will cost under £520 with a 3G version also available for under £645.
