Fossil has announced it is developing a new range of wearable fashion accessories, including an Android Wear smartwatch.
Looking very much like a Moto 360, the round-faced watch has the same chopped bottom edge. It also appears to feature a shiny steel body, with a leather strap, though no details were confirmed.
Fossil also confirmed there will also be a connected bracelet and connected watch, suggesting they will be devices not powered by Android Wear but instead being more akin to the semi-smart Tag Heuer Carrera.
Unveiled at Intel’s developer forum (IDF), the suggestion is that at least one of the devices will be powered by one of Intel’s tiny IoT platforms, such as Intel Curie. This would make it the first major smart watch launch to use an Intel processor rather than a Qualcomm based chip. However, nothing was confirmed.
Fossil also makes watches for a number of other fashion brands including Armani and confirmed it will be looking to create a range of products for each of its sub-brands and partner brands.
The Fossil connected fashion accessories range is set for release in October in time for the holiday shopping season.
