These new Star Wars toys bring a galaxy far, far away closer than ever

Force Friday 2017: New Star Wars toys revealed

Loads of new Star Wars collectibles have been released to coincide with Force Friday 2017, or Force Friday 2. When is Force Friday 2017? Here’s what you really need to know, and how to get involved today.

Force Friday 2 is finally here, and a whole host of new Star Wars: The Last Jedi-inspired toys have landed in our galaxy.

Argos just launched a 13-strong range of new collectibles to celebrate, featuring wearable ‘Force Link’ technology, LEGO sets and an Elite Praetorian Guard action figure straight out of Episode VIII.

Head here to feel the Force of the full toy range and get hyped for The Last Jedi.

But these aren’t the only awesome new Star Wars treats that will catch the eye of Force fans.

Sphero’s R2-D2 may not be able to hack Imperial computers, but it’ll certainly ‘bloopety bleep’ its way into your heart. Save some space in the back of your X-Wing for this one – it’s the droid everyone’s gonna be looking for this Christmas.

The menacing Sphero BB-9E, on the other hand, is not the droid you’re looking for… it’s the droid that’s looking for you. It looks like BB-8’s evil twin, and we sense a disturbance in the Force already.

BB-8 is back and better than ever with a cool new AR Droid Trainer that lets you roam iconic ship interiors and memorable locations from the Star Wars saga.

And to top it off, Firebox is filling a Mystery Box with a pile of surprise Star Wars goodies, so you’ll get £90 of merch for under £50. There are only 300 available, so you’ll need to move quicker than the Millennium Falcon to grab one.

Alongside mountains of shiny new Star Wars: The Last Jedi merchandise, Pokémon Go for Star Wars lovers has arrived – sort of – with the unveiling of a new augmented reality game. Star Wars fans can track down ‘life-sized’ holograms of their favourite characters in an AR scavenger hunt.

To get involved, just download the Star Wars smartphone app, head to one of the 20,000 shops taking part and scan a ‘Find the Force’ logo. If the Force is with you, one of 15 characters will then appear for you to interact with – all thanks to the magic of augmented reality.

Here’s a quick link to help you get started.

It’s the perfect chance to bring Star Wars legends to life and strike your best Jedi pose for the greatest snap in the galaxy.

If you haven’t managed to make it to the shops yet, scan the graphic below for an early AR treat!
