Five Nights at Freddy’s could be coming to a cinema near you in the future.
The successful game from Scott Cawthon is being made into a feature-length movie from Warner Bros.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has picked up the rights to Five Nights at Freddy’s and will turn it into a movie adaptation.
The movie will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment along with Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.
“We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie,” said Grahame-Smith.
“The story really lends itself to being a movie and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to,” added creator Cawthon.

For those of you who haven’t experienced Five Nights at Freddy’s, the game takes place in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which is intended to be a much darker version of a family-friendly restaurant.
Inside, an animatronics animal band performs children’s songs by day, but then go on murderous rampages by night.
All you need to do is survive a night locked inside Fazbear’s Pizza, knowing that Freddy and the gang may well jump out of a dark corner at any moment.
The original Five Nights at Freddy’s was released on Steam in 2014 and later ported to Android and iOS. Cawthon then followed up his initial success with a pair of sequels (Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and Five Nights at Freddy's 3) within six months of the original release.
Warner Bros’ movie adaptation is still looking for a writer, so it might be a little wait until we see Freddy and co on the big screen.
