Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date brought forward

The Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date has been brought forward, with the game arriving next month.

If you’ve been waiting to get the final instalment of Five Nights at Freddy’s on your mobile, then you’ll be pleased to hear it’s arriving early.

Developer Scott Cawthon has brought the release date of Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter forward to August 8 to bring it in line with the one year anniversary of the original game.

The last instalment of the point-and-click survival horror series was originally teased back in April with a Halloween release date of October 31.

But, in an email to streamer Dawkos Games, which was subsequently posted on Reddit, Cawthon outlined that he would release a free update to the game with additional new content on Halloween to mark the spooky occasion.

Also in April, Cawthon revealed that a film adaptation of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series is on the way.

The Warner Bros production “taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to”, according to Cawthon.

For those of you not familiar with Five Nights at Freddy’s, it takes place in a family-friendly pizza parlour where an robotic band of animals play children’s songs by day. But by night, it all takes a sinister turn.

All you need to do is survive a night in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, without getting killed by the band. It’s easier said than done, believe us.
