Windows 8 may not even be commercially available yet but apparently it could already do with some optimisation. That's according to the fokes at IObit, who have announced its latest PC optimisation software, Advanced SystemCare, is primed and ready to roll with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
The software, like many such optimisation suites, checks your computer for malware, offers secure file shredding and boosts performance through various tidying-up procedures. These include defragging your hard drive, cleaning up the registry, tidying up shortcuts and much more. Once the cleaning's done the software can also monitor your system in real-time and actively shutdown inactive services to free up RAM, and stop the drain on your CPU.
As ever, if you're an advanced user this software clearly isn't for you but for novice users having the whole lot wrapped up in one piece of software that costs $19.95 could be the perfect solution. We'll be giving the new software a try to see if it does do what it says on the tin.
The key point about all these optimisation suites, though, is that they tend to be of worth when you've used a PC for a year or so and it has become bogged down with old files and conflicting system components. Quite what the likelihood is that anyone running Windows 8 Consumer Preview is in such a a pickle already is anybody's guess, but we'd reckon the chances a slim to none.
