Accessories specialist Proporta has officially unveil its upcoming iPhone 5 cases with the company’s launch designs landing just hours after Apple confirmed the upcoming September 21st iPhone release date.
Adopting an all new form factor, Apple’s latest generation handset will not be able to squeeze itself into existing iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S cases, with the newly unveiled iPhone 5 lining up with a revised 4-inch display and minimalist 7.6mm thick body.

Whilst the new, metallic back finish will help counteract the widespread breakages that become rife with the glass-backed iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 cases will be in hot demand following the handset’s release as early adopters look to keep their latest smartphone powerhouse in pristine condition.
One of the first accessory manufacturers to formally unveil their collection of iPhone 5 cases for launch, Proporta has outed five new iPhone 5 case ranges with the company’s familiar waterproof BeachBuoy case lining up alongside a selection of leather and hard shell covers.
Lead by the £14.95 Hard Shell iPhone 5 case, Proporta’s barebones iPhone 5 protector is set to be made available in four colour schemes at launch with the black, pink and white offerings to be joined by a blue cover that will help keep the handset’s rear panel and side edges protected from knocks and scratches.
Elsewhere, the company’s newly unveiled iPhone 5 Leather Case, which lines up with a £29.95 price tag, sees the luxuriously finished folio styled design playing host to an aluminium lined interior for added protection. In keeping with the refreshed iPhone 5 form factor, the Proporta iPhone 5 Leather Case features a bottom panel cut outs for the handset’s new 8-pin Lightning dock connector and revised 3.5mm audio jack location.
Making the jump from its longstanding 3.5-inch form factor, the iPhone 5 boasts a new 4-inch Retina display with an impressive 1136 x 640p image resolution and 326ppi image density. On top of this, Apple has packed its newly designed handset with an A6 processor that is said to be two times faster than the handset’s iPhone 4S predecessor.
Further iPhone 5 features include a refreshed 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities and a second, 720p HD video capable, snapper found on the handset’s front panel.
Confirming that iPhone 5 prices will start from £529 for the 16GB edition in either of the black or white colour forms, Apple has revealed that an iPhone 5 UK release date will be held next Friday, September 21st. For those eager to secure their latest Apple handset, iPhone 5 pre-orders will kick off tomorrow, September 14th.
