The first products compatible with Apple’s HomeKit smart home platform have arrived just days before the firm is expected to announce its addition to iOS at WWDC 2015.
Companies like Lutron and Insteon have released products to the public now while Elgato, Ecobee and iHome have various smart items on the way too (via Engadget)
Lutro has selling an iOS-compatible Caseta Wireless Smart Bridge which enables control of home lighting through Siri and the free companion app for iPhone, iPad or iWatch.
Meanwhile, Isteon goes beyond home lighting with a complete smart home hub that can control the firm’s entire stable of smart gear. They’ve got a host of cameras, smart bulbs, home alarms and more up for grabs.
As for the rest, the Elgato company is promising to bring its Eve sensors to market with HomeKit compatibility. Those smart home companions can detect temperature, air quality, humidity, energy consumption, movement and more.
AppleInsider points out the Eve environmental sensors will be controllable “away from home” but that “requires an Apple TV (3rd generation or later) with Apple TV software 7.0 or later and an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8.1 or later.”

In terms of smart thermostats, the HomeKit-infused Ecobee3 will arrive in July, while those seeking smart plugs for lamps and the like will be able to order a $40 HomeKit SmartPlug on June 15.
As of right now the product launches seem to be limited to the United States, but we may learn more able globally-available product lines at WWDC next week.
