Finally, an iPhone 7 image leak that looks like a real iPhone

Just when you thought we’d had enough iPhone 7 leaks to know what the handset is going to look like, a new photo comes along to give us what might be our best look yet at Apple’s forthcoming device.

The phone itself is still a couple of months away from an official launch, but this latest leak has seemingly revealed what could be the final backplate design.

Twitter leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer posted the below image which he claims shows the back of the iPhone 7 in all its glory.

While the photo doesn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know about the phone, it is one of the clearest images of the handset we’ve seen yet.

The newly adjusted plastic antenna lines, which now run around the top and bottom edge of the case, are in line with numerous prior leaks, while the larger camera lens suggests we’ll be getting a wider aperture than on previous models.

Apple is rumoured to be preparing two or three new versions of the iPhone 7, with a more premium model said to feature a dual-lens camera setup.

Other reports claim the company will do away with the headphone jack in favour of its own Lightning connection.

Although Apple usually introduces a major update to its iPhone range every two years, it’s been reported that Tim Cook and co. will wait until next year’s iPhone 8 to overhaul the design.

Which means this year’s handset will likely look very similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S – something which Hemmerstoffer’s leak seems to confirm.

The iPhone 7 is expected to launch in early September, and while we can’t confirm this latest leak as genuine, it certainly seems convincing.
