Final iOS 7 beta coming next week ahead of September 10 Apple media event

Apple will release the sixth and final iOS 7 beta to developers next week, ahead of the Apple media event on September 10.

iOS developers will receive the final beta version for Apple’s upcoming redesign mobile OS sometime next week, with the final Gold Master (GM) copy released to Apple partners on September 5.

According to sources speaking to BGR, on Monday iOS developers will be able to access the final beta version of iOS 7, showing the mobile OS close to a final release product.

On or around September 5, Apple partners and employees will receive the GM version of iOS 7 to test and smooth out any last issues with the software.

This version will most likely be the same version released to consumers later in September unless any huge problems are discovered.

Developers will then be able to download the final release version of iOS 7 on September 10, the date heavily rumoured to hold Apple’s media event.

It is here that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C should be officially launched, especially as they’ll be the first devices to run iOS 7 right out of the box.

With every iOS 7 beta, Apple has been tweaking and transforming its new OS, letting the world get a rare view at how the Cupertino company develops its mobile operating systems.

Apple originally stated that the iOS 7 release date would lie somewhere in autumn 2013, but it seems that iOS devices could be getting the update early next month.

“iOS 7 is the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior VP of Software Engineering. “To create it, we brought together a team with a broad range of expertise from design to engineering. With what we’ve been able to achieve together, we see iOS 7 as an exciting new beginning.”
