Final Fantasy XV release date leaked ahead of official announcement

If you were planning to wake up for Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy XV announcement in the early hours of Thursday morning, you might as well enjoy a good night’s sleep because the cat may be out of the bag.

According to a video posted briefly and then removed by GameSpot (via Kotaku) on Wednesday, the game will be released on September 30 for Xbox One and PS4.

The date had previously been touted by Gematsu earlier this month, but it’s possible GameSpot may have been given a heads up, only to hit the publish button on the video a little too soon.

Earlier today, we brought word that a new demo, enabling gamers to play as a young version of the game’s central character Noctis, will also be dropping during the hour-long event in Los Angeles.

A release date and a demo reveal is hardly likely to take an hour, so perhaps we can expect some more bombshells during the ‘Uncovered: Final Fantasy VX’ event.

If you’re still up for setting the alarm, you can also tune into event on the Square-Enix Presents Twitch channel.
