Final Fantasy 9 PC specs and gameplay details revealed

The system requirements and gameplay changes for Final Fantasy IX’s PC version have been revealed.

We have some good news, your PC will probably be able to run Final Fantasy IX.

First released in the year 2000 for the original PlayStation, the classic JRPG is now coming to PC and smartphones.

Both versions have been upgraded with improved graphics and gameplay options too, so there’s no better time to give it a try.

The PC version of Final Fantasy IX will allow you to completely turn off random encounters, among other gameplay bonuses.

According to the official Steam page, the game will include a total of seven “game boosters”, which can be switched on and off at will.

Other new features include Steam achievements, cloud saves and high-definition CG cut-scenes.

If you’re worried you might have trouble running such an old game, Square Enix has kindly released the system requirements.

Minimum PC System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz or higher
  • Memory: 2GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS or ATI Radeon HD4650 or higher
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 20GB available space

Recommended PC System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (32- or 64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 2520 2.5GHz or better
  • Memory: 4GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS or ATI Radeon HD4650 or higher
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 20GB available space

Final Fantasy IX will be available on PC in “early 2016” according to Steam, but no official release date has been confirmed.
