The FIFA 15 UK cover star has been revealed, with Chelsea's Eden Hazard given the nod for boxart fame alongside Lionel Messi.
With the new Barclays Premier League season having kicked off last weekend, FIFA’s big reveal comes just over a month before the game’s September 26 FIFA 15 UK release date.
"EA Sports today announced that last season’s PFA Young Player of the Year and PFA Team of the Year, Eden Hazard, will make his debut on the cover of EA Sports FIFA 15," an official spokesperson for the publisher confirmed.
Bigging up their new cover star, EA added: "The 23 year old Belgian had an outstanding season for Chelsea in the 2013/14 campaign with 14 goals, seven assists and 92 chances created from his 35 appearances.
"The midfielder had a pin-point 83 per cent passing accuracy, including 1,055 passes in the opposition half - one of just ten players to top 1,000 in the Barclays Premier League last season. Hazard also completed more successful dribbles than any other player in the division with 132. In comparison, the second ranked player completed just 93, making Hazard the Barclays Premier League's most dangerous player with the ball at his feet."
Previous British stars to grace the cover of FIFA games include Joe Hart and Gareth Bale, with Man United striker Wayne Rooney having made multiple appearances on the box.
As well as featuring on the UK box, Hazard will be FIFA's cover star for Ireland, France, Holland and his native Belgium.
EA Sports has already revealed the stars of FIFA 15 covers for other territories – Clint Dempsey in the US, Shaqiri in Switzerland and David Alaba in Austria.
