Far Cry 4

Ubisoft has sent selected Far Cry 4 gamers a poll asking them to choice what setting they’d like to see for a future Far Cry title.

According to a poll sent to a selection of Far Cry 4 gamers, Ubisoft is considering several settings for its next Far Cry game, which may well be Far Cry 5.

The questionnaire was sent out to players over the past couple of weeks, some of which got in touch with Eurogamer to show off the potential settings for the next Far Cry game.

Ubisoft’s poll mentions potential locales for the next game, including Alaska and Peru, the former would no doubt take advantage of the frozen Himalayan wilderness explored in Far Cry 4.

But, the poll also hints at historical settings like the Vietnam War and a Spaghetti Western-inspired late 19th Century setting. Just imagine a game that is basically Far Cry crossed with Red Dead Redemption.

Ubisoft even goes so far as to suggest a “Far Cry game where you can fight against or join vampires” – so think Twilight…

Then there’s “a Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic world”, one with zombies, or the pretty awesome “Far Cry set in the modern day on a Jurassic Park-style island with dinosaurs”.

The poll also lists a Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon sequel and also a revisit of Far Cry 4’s Shangri-La.

Ubisoft has a strong history of asking gamers for their input into upcoming games, especially for Assassin’s Creed titles.

In 2010, a poll was released asking gamers about features that would eventually turn up in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

Then in 2011, a poll for future Assassin’s Creed settings included the American Revolution and Victorian England – the former used for Assassin’s Creed 3 and then the latter due to be the setting for the 2015 leaked Assassin’s Creed: Victory.

Far Cry 4 PC was such a mess at launch, it was promoted as an Nvidia game...I got it free with two GTX 970's, two cards that are almost top of the line and supposedly the game is MADE to work with them. I even used the Nvidia graphics setting and even with an i7 @ 4.4ghz, the frame rate was all over the place...later found out that SLI support was completely broken out of the box. Eventually they patched it but I learned my lesson: I'm never going to play Ubi games at launch. Honestly though, Ubi is run by complete monkeys and they are going to run the Far Cry series straight into the ground.

Far Cry 4 had a terrible ending. You have to choose between 2 idiots to rule the country. How about a third option? King A.J.!!!! I did all the killin' Why should those idiots rule? If they don't like it I've got some more caps for them. Hah hah hah!!!

As a big Far Cry fan i really hope they keep it realistic rather than going over the top. I hated Blood Dragon and most of the golden path balls etc in Far Cry 4 and 3. I love the realism of Far Cry 2 the most. Both Alaska or Peru sound good. Some changes i'd like to see are, A larger variety of weapons, different guns and some goodies like flash bangs. A British main character. A plane, some kind of light airfract like a sea plane. The ability to craft and set up booby traps like in Rambo First Blood.
