Evolve goes Gold ahead of February release date

Turtle Rock has revealed Evolve has “Gone Gold” ahead of its release on February 10.

Ahead of the game’s release next month, Evolve has “Gone Gold” and is being shipped off the manufacturers and subsequently to the retail stores themselves.

To celebrate the achievement, Turtle Rock has released the Evolve opening cinematic introduction with fans, which you can watch below.

“While everyone else was celebrating the start of 2015, the Evolve team was eagerly awaiting the final certification from first parties,” reads the latest Evolve blogpost. “And now we’re happy to announce that Evolve has ‘Gone Gold’”.

Turtle Rock also confirmed that Evolve merchandise will be available in the 2K store later today.

But, ahead of the game’s release date, Turtle Rock Studios and publisher 2K Games have the Evolve open beta to learn from next week.

The Evolve Xbox One open beta starts on Thursday January 15 and concludes on Monday January 19.

On January 17, Xbox One gamers will get exclusive access to Evacuation, Evolve’s dynamic campaign. It combines the full array of maps and modes in an experience that changes every time.

Otherwise, the beta will include Evolve’s Hunt game mode and access the first two monsters known as Goliath and Kraken. You’ll also get to play as the first eight hunters – Markov, Maggie, Val, Hank, Hyde, Griffin, Lazarus and Bucket – and all 12 maps that support the Hunt mode.

Any character that you unlock while playing the beta will carry over to the full game come launch too.

“We’ll have a lot more to share with you soon about all the additional content coming down the road, but for now all of Turtle Rock Studios (and the folks at 2K) want to say, ‘Thank you!’”
