Super Mario Galaxy has been rated for Wii U by the ESRB, hinting at a release on Nintendo’s Virtual Console.

Mario Galaxy could be coming to the Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console, according to a new rating by the ESRB.

We shouldn’t expect any significant graphical upgrades or changes with this release though, as it’s likely a straight port of the original game.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 launched for the Wii U as a straight-forward port running at a 480p resolution, with no noticeable improvements.

If you already own a physical copy of the original game you can just pop it in your Wii U and play it that way.

Super Mario Galaxy is a modern masterpiece, so it’s definitely worth giving it a go if you haven’t already,
