EE unveils new 4GEE Capture Cam for on-the-go streaming

We were all a little surprised when EE announced a 4G action camera earlier this year. So how about a second one?

EE has announced a new addition to its camera range with the 4GEE Capture Cam.

The new camera is designed to be small, lightweight (90 grams, for the record), and 4G-friendly.

This means that if you’ve got signal, you’ll be able to stream footage straight from the slope, track, or bungee-cord.

The Capture Cam comes with 4GB of internal storage, but you can expand this with a memory card by a further 64GB.

It comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera that can capture both live video and stills.

Do note that the maximum setting for live streaming is set at 30 frames per second for 720p footage.

It shoots with a 4:3 aspect ratio, has a focal length of 2.57mm, and features an F2.4 aperture.

The field of view is a respectable 84-degrees, although the device uses fixed focus, which is a shame.

Battery life – courtesy of a 1,275mAH cell – is set at 2.76 hours of 1080p video recording, while live streaming reduces this to 1.91 hours.

With standard camera capture, you’re looking at a slightly higher 5.66 hours.

EE has built a companion app for the Capture Cam, which is available for both iOS and Android.

The Capture Cam will be available “before Christmas 2015” according to EE.

The company also says that full pricing and availability will “be announced soon”.
