EE launches 30-day rolling SIM only 4G contracts

EE has launched the first 30-day rolling 4G contracts on a SIM only basis in the UK.

Currently the only 4G UK network provider, EE is the first to offer 30-day SIM only 4G contracts, which are available now.

Aiming to complement its existing range of 12-month 4GEE SIM only contracts, EE is now offering the superfast 4G connection on 30-day SIM only contracts, allowing more consumers to get access to 4G connections.

The 30-day plans start at £23 for unlimited UK texts and minutes and 500MB of data. Data allowances of 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 8GB and 20GB are also available and range from £28 to £63 per month.

“It’s our ambition to provide consumers with the most comprehensive range of 4GEE plans possible,” said Simeon Bird, Director of Propositions at EE. “With these new 30-day options, we’re pleased to be providing an even more flexible way to access 4G.”

As with the pay monthly 4GEE contracts, anyone signing up for the 30-day rolling SIM only plans will have access to EE Film, which offers 2 for 1 cinema tickets and film downloads and streaming, and a £5 discount on any EE Fibre Broadband packages.

Year-long SIM only contracts start at £21 for 500MB of data and unlimited UK calls and texts. The larger data allowances listed above are all available, with prices ranging from £26 to £61 per annum.

The 4G signal from EE is expected to extend to 98 per cent of the UK by the end of 2014, with half of the British population already benefiting from 4G and the superfast mobile broadband connection.

The UK network provider will introduce double-speed 4G to ten UK cities by the summer, offering headline speeds up to 80MBps and average speeds of over 20MBps.

EE will soon face competition from the Ofcom 4G auction winners, O2, Vodafone, Three and BT, who are all planning to release their own 4G contracts before the end of the year.
