EE has announced a new own-brand tablet, the EE Harrier Tab.
The current EE Harrier range is comprised of two affordable smartphones, but now a tablet has been added to the mix. As you can see, the EE Harrier Tab is in the same style as the EE Harrier and EE Harrier Mini, albeit obviously bigger and heavier at 310g.
Available in EE shops, online, and over the phone from today, the EE Harrier Tab is an 8-inch Full HD tablet that runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. That’s the latest available version of Android, and it’ll be stock too, so no ugly custom UI.
It’s powered by a 1.5GHz 64Bit Qualcomm processor, which sounds an awful lot like the Snapdragon 615 to us. That’s the same mid-range chip that runs the rest of the Harrier range.
This is backed by 2GB of RAM, and there’s also 16GB of internal storage. You can expand the latter with a microSD card, however.
The EE Harrier Tab also comes with an 8-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing effort.
This being an EE tablet, the Harrier Tab will also come with Cat 4 4G connectivity for real world download speeds of up to 60Mbps. All of this is powered by a 4,650mAh battery.

The EE Harrier Tab is available now for free on a £18 per month 24 month contract. That includes 10GB of data each month. Alternatively, you can purchase it outright on PAYG for £199.99.
Of course, with the Tesco Hudl 2 now available for £99, the EE Harrier Tab will be in for some stiff competition at the lower end of the tablet market. However, with 4G connectivity and a couple of other distinguishing specs, it could turn out to be the better choice for roving users.
