EE has expanded its 4G coverage to 10 more towns in the UK, with double speed 4G reaching three additional cities.
Adding another 10 towns to the list of those covered by the EE 4G network, three more cities will also be happy to hear they can use double speed 4G.
The new UK locations to get 4G coverage are Welwyn Garden City, Tonbridge, Rochdale, Maidstone, Farnham, Farnborough, Crawley, Camberley, Bedford and Altrincham.
The additional 10 towns means that EE 4G is now available in 95 UK towns and cities, with the superfast broadband covering nearly 60 per cent of the British population.
“It has been a busy summer with the launch of next generation services including Cash on Tap and new Shared 4GEE plans, and we’re continuing to keep up the pace of our 4G rollout,” said Olaf Swantee, EE CEO. “Today we’re launching in a further 10 UK towns bringing superfast 4G services to more and more businesses and consumers.”
Belfast, Newcastle and Southampton will now receive double speed 4G connections, which mean the double speed 4G coverage now extends to 15 UK cities.
The double speed 4G mobile broadband offers headline speeds of 60Mbps, while average speeds are between 24 – 30Mbps.
“The arrival of double speed 4G in a further three cities means we remain one step ahead, and on track to provide our customers with a world leading mobile experience.”
At the beginning of July, EE launched its PAYG 4GEE mobile broadband, meaning customers can now access the super-fast broadband network on a PAYG basis.
