eBay flooded with PS4 Slim listings – but are they legit?

The PS4 Slim isn’t even confirmed as a thing yet, but more and more of them are appearing for sale on eBay.

After the Gumtree listing of a couple days ago, more have begun popping up on eBay, though the legitimacy or even the legality of said sales is questionable.

Kotaku has been chasing up the listings, with some of the buyers claiming they bought the hardware from someone working at a factory, though how said worker obtained the console couldn’t be confirmed.

Another buyer purchased three consoles from someone in Liverpool. Once again how these consoles were obtained is unknown, with the ‘deal’ going down in a public place.

Perhaps the dodgiest of the bunch is a buyer who hit the panic button and claimed the console has already been announced and the console has definitely not been stolen. I guess we missed that press release.

No matter which way you slice it there’s something very untoward going on with these deals. Whether the consoles are indeed fake (though the recent footage of one booting up and the redesigned controller certainly seem to prove otherwise) or the consoles are being obtained via underhanded means, we’re pretty sure Sony will have something to say about it.

We’re sure all will become clear at the PlayStation Meeting on September 7, where we’re also expected to finally see the PS4 Neo.

Aside from the dodgy deals, are you excited to see a redesigned PS4? Let us know in the comments.
