EA has responded to fan criticism following the announcement The Sims 4 will not have toddlers or pools at launch.
In a previous blog post, EA Games revealed that the game would not offer some of the key features introduced with The Sims 3, like toddlers or the Create a Style tools.
Fans were understandably a little peeved, especially when the publisher announced there wouldn’t be pool creation tools either – a staple tool for the Sims series.
EA Games has now issued a new blog post outlining why the decisions were made, which should hopefully ease fans’ disgruntlement a little.
“So the bottom line is that when we sat down and looked at everything we wanted to do for this game, all the new tech we wanted to build into it, the fact was that there would be trade-offs, and these would disappoint some of our fans.”
Franklin went on to detail some of the new gameplay features for The Sims 4. For example, you’ll get a choice of seven different walk styles and there are 320 new emotion-based animations and more than 600 object reactions.
Plus, you’ll be able to put a hat on any hairstyle, let your Sims multi-task and interact in groups.
Ahead of The Sims 4 release date on September 2, EA announced that there will be a Create A Sim demo available later this summer “for absolutely everyone to play”.
“We’ll be releasing over 15 minutes of in-game Live Mode footage (with complete UI) in the next two weeks. We can’t wait to hear what you think”.
