Dragon Age: Inquisition release date confirmed with new gameplay trailer

BioWare has confirmed the Dragon Age: Inquisition release date along with a fresh gameplay trailer for the game.

You will be able to get playing the latest instalment in the Dragon Age series from October 7 according to the new gameplay trailer, which is a Tuesday. This might just be for the US, potentially launching in Europe on Thursday October 9, but we’re awaiting confirmation on this now.

The game will be released for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in October, but BioWare hopes the only difference between current and next-gen platforms will be graphics.

“Our goal is for there not to be any differences. We’ve already pushed as far as we can on the Gen 4 stuff, on Xbox One and PS4, so we’re already at that point,” said game producer, Cameron Lee in a CVG interview. “When we look at how we bring it down to Gen 3, it’s a challenge we know we have to solve and we’re starting to think about it. But mostly it’s going to be the visual elements and immersion elements.”

The brand new gameplay trailer focuses on the game’s protagonist, the Inquisitor, who must save the land of Thedas from an influx of demons.

“The lone survivor of a cataclysmic blast, the Inquisitor is the only one who can stop the demons terrorizing the land of Thedas”, explains the YouTube blurb.

The Dragon Age: Inquisition game world will be significantly larger and more varied that that featured in previous titles like Dragon Age: Origins.

In this trailer alone you can see some sweeping shots of a frozen forest and abandoned ruins among others.

What is interesting is that there aren’t many dragons in this trailer, but several other species are shown as ridden mounts for the game.
