US presidential candidate Donald Trump retweeted a fan-made video which included quotes from Mass Effect 2’s ‘The Illusive Man’, and EA stepped in.

The publisher removed the video from YouTube (though it can still be found here), which was submitted to Twitter by a user, titled “Trump Effect”. The video includes re-purposed quotes from the Martin Sheen voice-acted character, the game's lead antagonist.

The user screen-grabbed Donald Trump’s retweet, unfortunately suggesting the video wasn’t made as a parody:

EA issued a statement to Game Informer regarding the decision to take the video down:

“The video was an unauthorized use of our IP," a company representative said. "We do not support our assets being used in political campaigns."

Donald Trump is a known prolific tweeter, predominantly known for putting his foot in his mouth via the social media platform.
