Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked coming to Steam Early Access next month

Klei Entertainment has confirmed that Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked is coming to Steam Early Access next month.

The latest Don’t Starve expansion, Shipwrecked, will crash headlong into Steam Early Access in December.

If you are looking forward to surviving in another location – this time perhaps with a tropical cocktail in your hand on a desert island – then Shipwrecked is certainly going to pique your interest.

On December 1, Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked will land on Steam Early Access.

“The early access version of the game is fully playable, but there is still some work to be done,” explained developer Klei Entertainment. “The initial version contains new seasons, creatures, biomes, and many other exciting ways to die. As always, during early access we will be releasing regular updates containing new content as well as tweaks and bug fixes based on your input.”

This has been our first fresh info on Shipwrecked since it was announced back in August.

Sadly, the expansion will be Windows PC compatible only to begin with, with Mac and Linux support supposedly in the pipeline.

However, there is some good news in that you don’t need the previous expansion, Reign of Giants, to play Shipwrecked.

Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked is single-player only, but Klei states that the thought of the expansion working with Don’t Starve Together is “an awesome idea”.
