Don’t Starve: Giant Edition coming to Xbox One this month

Klei Entertainment has announced Don’t Starve Giant Edition is coming to Xbox One.

Developer Klei has confirmed that Don’t Starve and all its DLC is coming to Xbox One this month.

Don’t Starve Giant Edition combines the original game and its Reign of Giants expansion pack, adding new characters and hazards to the survival game.

It’s due to launch on Xbox One on Wednesday 26 August, with the price set at $14.99 (approx £9.99).

An Xbox One release for Don’t Starve was originally teased back in June, with a German ratings board listed for the title.

That news followed the launch of the Wii U version of Don’t Starve on 28 May, which only served to reinforce the Xbox One rumour.

Klei also recently announced a new expansion for Don’t Starve. It’s called Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked, and it takes the series survival formula to the deep blue sea.

Shipwrecked is due to launch on PC, Mac and Linux in the autumn, with a console version yet to be confirmed.

For those not familiar with Don’t Starve, it’s an uncompromising survival game full of science and magic.

You play as Wilson (or one of the other characters you can unlock), a scientist who’s been transported to this mysterious world.

You’ll need to learn how to craft and build items that will help you to survive both the conditions and the world’s inhabitants.
