Square Enix and Ubisoft Montreal have unveiled a new live action trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
The cinematic short takes us through the ‘golden era of augmentation’ known as ‘mechanical apartheid’, a major event that has taken place in the world of Deus Ex.
Plenty has changed since 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and the trailer hopes to provide us with some valuable insight.

Square Enix has also released a short plot synopsis for the upcoming game, giving us a small glimpse of what’s to come:
“In 2027, mechanically-augmented people all over the world suffered from extreme psychotic delusions, lost control of themselves, and started attacking people. Millions died. Hundreds of thousands more were injured and maimed. In the wake of this global catastrophe, society has become divided by hatred, prejudice, and fear, with many countries now enacting harsh laws. The most notable of these laws is the highly controversial “Human Restoration Act”, aimed at isolating “Augs” and keeping them away from “Naturals”.
Acting as the direct sequel to 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mankind Divided once again has you play as Adam Jensen.
The heavily augmented mercenary has access to a ludicrous range of skills and abilities, so you can experiment with many different play styles throughout the expansive RPG.
