Destiny The Dark Below EP available to download now

Activision has launched the first Destiny EP today, December 9, called The Dark Below.

Destiny The Dark Below is available to download now for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live respectively.

It is the first expansion for Destiny and adds lots of new content to the game, including new weapons and gear.

“Destiny is and always has been a long-term vision for us,” said Pete Parsons, Bungie COO. “An important part of that vision includes listening to the community as we shape what comes next.”

“Since launch, we’ve made significant real-time improvements to the game based on player feedback and our first Expansion will include the things people want more of in the Destiny universe. These are new activities, gear and weapons, along with another fan-favourite Raid, that expand the gameplay experience.”

The Dark Below brings with it new story missions and quests based on the Hive, or preventing the resurrection of the ancient god Crota. Your max Light level cap has also been raised to 32.

There’s also a brand new co-operative Strike called The Will of Crota, which puts you and your Fire Team up against Omnigul, who is working to build a bigger and fiercer Hive army.

The Dark Below also adds three new competitive multiplayer arenas, a new six-player Raid and new loot to earn.

Anyone playing The Dark Below on PlayStation consoles will also get access to an exclusive co-operative Strike called The Undying Mind, as well as an exotic weapon.

It can be purchard for £19.99 as a standalone expansion, or as part of the Destiny Expansion Pass, which is priced at £34.99.

If you purchase The Dark Below before January 15, you’ll also receive the EV-30 Tumbler Sparrow. This vehicle is faster than the traditional Sparrow and can also fly and perform mid-air tricks.
