What does the tablet market need more than anything else? Yes, you've guessed it, another Android-powered tablet designed by a French fashion designer.
And so thank you Pierre Cardin for bringing us the “UK’s first designer tablet.” The Pierre Cardin PC-7006 Tablet is a 7in Android tablet which was created to meet the needs of “brand-conscious technology users.”
We’ve seen tablets like this before, such as the one from the fashion outlet Next and those looking for high-powered, high-specced devices won’t be too interested. The 7in tablet is powered by a Samsung Cortex A8 processor, running at a respectable 1GHz.

However things begin to go downhill when you realise that the version of Android running on the tablet is the very non-tablet specific Froyo (Android 2.2). The Pierre Cardin tablet will come with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage with a microSD slot to support up to another 16GB.
The press release that accompanied the announcement of this tablet, said the tablet supported both 3G and Wi-Fi, which we were impressed with, however with a little closer inspection we discovered that the 3G option is only available when you buy a separate 3G dongle – a solution we’ve already seen with the Archos G9 tablets.

There’s also a
1.3 megapixel camera, mini USB port and HDMI port included. The 7in tablet will
weigh 520g and measures 195 x 123
x 14mm and comes with a "tasteful" case and an "uber-cool" gift box.
The Pierre Cardin Tablet will cost £275 and can be purchase online at the Pierre Cardin website.
