With prices rapidly falling, there’s been no better time to pick up a 4K television – especially with Christmas impending.
Amazon has discounted the Sony Bravia KD55XD8005 55-inch Android 4K HDR Ultra HD Smart TV (2016) from £1,149 to just £769.99, saving you 33% – that’s a massive £379 discount. But it’s a Lightning deal, so you better act quickly if you want to grab the full discount.
This TV has a 55-inch screen with a 4K display resolution, and supports High Dynamic Range content. It runs on Google’s Android TV software, and features Google Cast compatibility.

What owners say
On Amazon, the Sony Bravia KD55XD8005 has a 3.9/5 score based on 18 user reviews. Users wrote:
“This image quality when in the default picture mode on this TV is just absolutely excellent. I cannot fault it at all.”
“The picture is excellent and a vast improvement on the KDL40-LX903 it replaces in my lounge. The Netflix button is a welcome addition to the remote control and after upgrading my subscription it streams perfectly in 4K and really does stand out. There is so much detail the picture almost looks 3D. All other TV channels look an improvement and so much clearer.”
“The picture is crisp and bright, with vibrant colours and deep blacks. When you try a 4K source (in my case, via Netflix) you see what this TV is truly capable of. The difference between HD and 4K is incredible, with a level of detail that is difficult to describe.”

How good a deal is this?
This is a particularly good deal, which is likely why Amazon is only offering it for such a short burst of time. The best prices we’ve seen so far range between £890-900, which are far lesser savings. As such, it’s hard not to recommend grabbing a 55-inch 4K HDR TV with a price tag below £800, especially when it’s from a well-known and reputable TV maker like Sony.
