If you refuse to be suckered in by smartphone companies’ bigger = better edict, then you can’t really go wrong with the 4-inch iPhone SE, released earlier this year.
With the updated innards of the iPhone 6, within the iPhone 5s' body and support for Apple Pay, it’s an excellent handset that’s far cheaper than the firm’s full-sized options.
Mobile users in the United States can now pick up the 16GB model for $199 if acquiring a pre-paid deal through US Cellular. That’s half of the unlocked asking price.

Despite the need to sign up for a pre-paid deal, users aren’t committing to a monthly outgoing so will likely be able to unlock the phone if they wish to use it with a different mobile carrier.
US Cellular operates a CDMA network, but seeing as the iPhone SE is dual-band users will be able to pair it with a network of their choosing.
The handset is available in Rose Gold, Space Grey, Silver and Gold.
In our review we gave the iPhone SE a solid four-star rating for its compact body, great camera, excellent performance and solid battery life.
It was docked points for the average screen, poor front-facing camera and 16GB starting storage.
