Dead Island 2 unveiled during Sony’s E3 conference

Dead Island 2 has been confirmed at E3 2014, with the zombie loving thriller set to launch on the PS4 soon, Sony has confirmed.

Taking gamers back to a world of zombie executing madness, Dead Island 2 will be set along the California coastline, with the living dead once again trying to overrun the human race.

In an official statement announcing the game, developer Deep Silver stated: “Several months after the events on Banoi, the United States military has put the Golden State under full quarantine.

They added: “Now a restricted zone, California has become a bloody paradise for those who refuse to leave their homes and an action-packed playground for renegades who seek adventure, glory and a fresh start.

“Combining the classic Dead Island elements of immersive close combat, action and role-playing, Dead Island 2 features crazy, never-before-seen handcrafted weapons and over-the-top characters in taking players from the iconic Golden Gate to the celebrated beachfront boardwalk of southern California’s Venice Beach.”

Despite being showcased during Sony’s E3 conference, Dead Island 2 has not been outlined as a PS4 exclusive, meaning Xbox One gamers should also have something to look forward to.

Looking set to be one of a mass of high-profile gaming launches in 2015, Dead Island – which follows 2011’s Dead Island and 2013’s Dead Island: Riptide – has been pegged for a spring 2015 release.
