Dave on demand launches on YouView

YouView owners can now enjoy the new Dave catch-up service, which went live today.

The new Dave on demand channel for YouView launched July 23, providing viewers with seven-days of catch-up.

Users can now enjoy seven days of catch-up TV from Dave, the claimed “home of witty banter”. Launching today, it is the first of the free-to-air channels from UKTV to have its own catch-up service on YouView.

The channel is available to any YouView set top box owners and allows viewers to enjoy shows such as Red Dwarf X, Russell Howard’s Good News and Frank Skinner’s Opinionated.

Accessible via the Dave-branded on demand portal through the YouView scroll back programme guide, Dave is the latest addition to YouView’s OD channels.

They already include BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, 4OD, Now TV by Sky and the ITV Player among others.

Dave is part of the UKTV network of 10 channels. Two more UKTV channels will launch YouView catch-up channels this year – Yesterday and Really.

“We are pleased to welcome UKTV to our collection of on demand TV players,” said Richard Halton, CEO of YouView to TrustedReviews. “YouView is currently the fastest growing TV platform in the UK and we know that offering quality on demand content, from iconic channels such as Dave, Really and Yesterday, is key to giving our customers a great TV experience and makes our scroll back programme guide even more compelling.”

In May, the company announced YouView is now installed in 400,000 UK homes, making it the fastest-growing TV service in Britain.

Launched in July 2012, the majority of YouView set top boxes are sold as part of broadband bundles from Talk Talk and BT, but boxes like the Humax DTR-T1000 can be bought separately from retailers like John Lewis.

YouView set top boxes can also be controlled using the new YouView app for Android or the original iOS option.
