Bandai Namco has announced Dark Souls II will hit the PS4 and Xbox One on April 3 2015.
It will arrive as part of a compilation package titled Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. As well as the original Dark Souls II – which launched back in March – it will include three DLC packs: Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King.
It promises an expanded story, new in-game events, deadlier enemies, and gameplay improvements.
The game will hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, too. This version will include the three DLC missions and a large-scale update known as ver.1.10 – this brings an additional NPC to seek out along the quest, the expanded story, new in-game events, improved balance and online matchmaking.
If you already own Dark Souls II on one of these older platforms, you will get the ver.1.10 update completely free. Can't say fairer than that.
"Thanks to its improved gameplay mechanics, gorgeous next-gen graphics, and new unknown dangers and lore, Scholar of the First Sin takes the meaning of its "Game of the Year" award from the Golden Joysticks Ceremony to a whole new level," Herve Hoerdt, president of IP strategy, marketing and PR at Bandai Namco Games Europe, said in a statement.
Dark Souls II scored a very impressive nine out of 10 in our review earlier this year.
