Customised Moto 360 (2nd Gen) delayed following ordering woes

If you pre-ordered a customised version of the new Moto 360 smartwatch, the chances are you may face a delay in receiving it.

Moto has sent out an email to affected customers, claiming “technical difficulties with our ordering and shipping system”.

In the email, the vice president of e-commerce Bjorn Kilburn wrote: “I am very sorry we’re late delivering your customized Motorola device. We experienced technical difficulties with our ordering and shipping system. We are working hard to get your device to you as soon as possible, and we will send you an updated estimated shipping date as soon as we can.”

The company is yet to provide that updated shipping date, or get into specifics about what’s causing the hold-up.

Correspondence received by Droid-Life from its readers suggests there’s little rhyme or reason to which models are being delayed.

Perhaps the company is struggling to stay ahead of all the customisation requests?

The delays come as a blow to Moto as it seeks to improve its share of the smartwatch market. Apple and Samsung continue to dominate, while a host of new watches from companies such as Huawei and Pebble threaten Moto’s presence.
