The internet was abuzz yesterday with news that Robot Wars would be returning to BBC Two in the near future.
Fans of the series, which ran from 1998 to 2001 on the BBC, seemed primarily concerned with who would host the show, with many calling for the return of long-time master of ceremonies Craig Charles.
Now, Charles has taken to Twitter to announce that he hasn't heard anything – but that he'd "love to do it".
Jeremy Clarkson was on presenting duty for the first series, before being replaced by Charles in the second series.
The now host of a Funk and Soul show on BBC Radio 6, presented Robot Wars, alongside Philippa Forrester, from its second series until it's cancellation.
Twitter saw a wave of support for his return following the reboot announcement, with many fans alluding to the short poems he'd recite at the end of each episode of the show.

Some even floated the idea of Kryten, the robot character from perhaps Charles' best-known show, Red Dwarf, as a worthy successor.
Others suggested for the hosting duties included comedian Richard Ayoade, Pointless hosts Richard Osman and Alexander Armstrong, and even Danny Dyer
