Could Resident Evil 7 be on the horizon?

Capcom has revealed it plans to launch two ‘major titles’ before April 201, leading to speculation that we could finally be about to see Resident Evil 7.

In Capcom’s financial overview and strategies plan for the next two years, the company reveals it plans to launch two major unannounced titles; one expected to sell four million units, the other two million.

A new Monster Hunter title is also planned for release, which the company expects to sell around two million, meaning ‘Major Title One’ is so big they expect it to sell double that of the new Monster Hunter.

capcom financials

Capcom teased yesterday that Umbrella Corps – a spin-off Resident Evil title due out this June – is just “a warm up to the full-scale offensive planned for the second half of the year” in its Capcom investor relations report, meaning all signs point to Resi 7.

With E3 just one month away, we could be set to see what Capcom has up its sleeve very soon.

However, March 2017 is a way’s away, so we could be in for a bit of a wait before finally getting the next major release in the hugely popular franchise.
