Google to reveal new Huawei-made Nexus 7 tablet at Pixel phone launch?

A new Nexus 7 tablet is supposedly being produced for Google by Huawei and readied for release before the end of the year, according to a new leak. Could it launch alongside the Pixel phone in October?

It is rumoured that Google is getting ready to release a new Huawei-made tablet to succeed its popular Nexus 7, with a release tipped for 2016.

According to the tweet by reliable gadget leaker @evleaks, Huawei is making a 7-inch tablet with 4GB of RAM, which sounds characteristically similar to the Nexus 7.

Adding further fuel to the fire is the fact that Huawei and Google have a history of working together under the Nexus banner, with the Chinese firm producing the Nexus 6P smartphone.

With Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones set to be released on October 4, all eyes are on whether or not the new tablet joins them on the catwalk in California.

However, the Nexus moniker is anything but a given and the tablet could well sit in Google’s expanding Pixel range.
