Corsair unleashes Bulldog DIY gaming PC for the living room

Corsair has introduced a new spin on the living room gaming PC with the unveiling of the Corsair Bulldog, a new small form factor PC chassis that includes a PSU and watercooler for your CPU.

The Bulldog is aimed squarely at bringing 4k gaming performance to the living room, thanks to its support for the latest top-end CPUs and GPUs. However, it can also be equipped with whatever hardware the user wants, with upgrades possible along the way, just like with any normal PC case.

“Bulldog is designed to take the 4K gaming experience delivered by
desktop gaming PCs, and bring it to the big 4K screens in the home,”
said Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair Components. “We knew we needed to deliver
a solution that was elegant, powerful, and compact. By leveraging our
leading expertise in PC case design and liquid cooling, we met that goal
with Bulldog. We can’t wait to unleash it on gamers this fall.”

It’s built around a mini-ITX motherboard – sold separately – with a custom water cooler sucking heat away from the CPU. The fan and fin assembly from this covers almost the entire motherboard, where it would normally block the graphics card.

However, this has been flipped onto its side and a PCI-E ribbon is used to connect the two. The result is a case that is only around 20cm high – shorter than just a graphics card stood upright. Exact measurements are still to be revealed.

Conventional air-cooled graphics cards can be installed or users can opt to buy the HG10 liquid cooler and mounting bracket for $99. Alternatively Corsair will also be partnering with graphics card manufacturers to offer ready-assembled liquid-coold cards, saving you the hassle of doing it yourself.

The 600W small form factor PSU will support the vast majority of high-end graphics cards, as well as CPUs. And, being a standard SFX design it can also be replaced if needs be.

The Corsair Bulldog will be arriving in Q4 of this year and is set to cost $399.
