During the Microsoft E3 2014 press conference, the return of an old gaming hero Conker was teased as part of a Project Spark promotional video.
At the end of a video showing off the powers of Project Spark game maker software, a new Conker game was teased.
Conker, the cheeky red squirrel, turned up at the video’s denouement and suggested that he was going to make a return to the games scene, via Project Spark.
While not an official Project Spark spokesperson, the words of one of gaming’s minor greats are probably enough to suggest new Conker content is in the works.
Project Spark is a game-making tool designed for people who might not have the knowledge and expertise to code games themselves. It seems likely that a short Conker adventure may be used as a showcase for what is possible with the game-maker.
Conker was a (minor) force in video games between 1999-2005. The best-remembered title is Conker’s Bad Fur Day, a 3D platformer released for the Nintendo 64 back in 2001.
Project Spark was released in Beta form in March 2014, although when the game-making tool will get a wider release is as yet unclear. Drop us a comment if you have fond memories of Conker from way back when.
