Smart lights are nothing new, but here's one that learns your habits and mimics them when you're out to ward off potential burglars.
It's called ComfyLight. It's smart enough to detect when you enter and leave the room, and turn the lights on and off accordingly. But you can also control it manually using the app on your phone.
As you go about your day, the lights learn your movements using motion sensors. Then when you're out, they'll replicate them, making it look like you're in. Which is handy, especially if a burglar has been casing the joint.
But there's more to it than that. It can detect any unwanted movement in your house and alert you through the app. It will tell you what kind of movement it's detected, and which room it's in. Sadly there are no cameras to spy with, so you'll have to rush home or get a neighbour to check for you. That lack of cameras is a bit of a bugbear, and could lead to plenty of panic-inducing false alarms.
Though the makers claim the sensors are smart enough to differentiate between humans and pets. We'd have to try it for ourselves to confirm.
It's passed its funding goal of €50,000 and still has 26 days to go. Pledge €80 or more and you can nab one on an early bird. It will ship in April.
