CoD: Advanced Warfare update brings gilded gear, weapon balance

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is due for a pretty beefy update across all platforms in the coming days.

Before December 6, Sledgehammer Games will push live a patch that will add new gear, weapons, and a raft of fixes to boot.

The most notable forthcoming addition is the ‘Grand Master Character Gear set’, a tough-to-bag armour skin that will only be gifted to the most murderous players.

Only those who fall within the top 100 slots in the ranked playlist will snag the new gear-set, which consists of an ornate, gilded outfit that’s sure to dazzle and inspire fear in your virtual foes.

Sledgehammer Games studio boss Michael Condrey also revealed other aspects of the patch in a Twitter post.

Weapon balancing, ranked play updates, map exploits, spawn fixes, and optimisations are all included in the update, which is confirmed to land on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

This marks the second update for Advanced Warfare, although it’s the first to add anything significant to the game. The first patch proffered fixes for the most part.

Sledgehammer has also revealed it will be throwing down Exo Zombies into DLC coming next year.

Four pieces of DLC will land throughout 2015, with the first one – entitled ‘Havoc’ – set to ship in January.

The remaining three chapters will be called ‘Ascendance’, ‘Supremacy’, and ‘Reckoning’, all of which will add new chapters to the Exo Zombie saga.
