With the iPhone 5 just a little over two months old, claimed iPhone 5S pictures have leaked online kicking iPhone 5S rumours into overdrive.
Seemingly set to play host to a design identical to that of the current iPhone 5, the newly outed iPhone 5S pictures have been said to showcase the upcoming handset’s shell with only minor tweaks, including the moving of internal screws, hinting at a selection of new innards bound for the as yet unannounced seventh-generation iPhone.
The claimed iPhone 5S pictures, which have hit the web courtesy of French site Nowhereelse.fr, show no changes to the exterior of the device aside from a ‘X’ on the handset’s rear, a mark that denotes the unit as a prototype model.
Although the latest iPhone 5S rumours have failed to offer any details as to how the device will differ from its predecessor, the leaked iPhone 5 pictures have suggested a number of component alterations are imminent with a slightly modified internal configuration teased.
iPhone 5S Rumours
Although far from confirmed, Apple is expected to follow-up the recent iPhone 5 launch with a 2013 iPhone 5S release date. In keeping with tradition, the iPhone 5S is, like the iPhone 4S and iPhone 3GS expected to be only an incremental change over its direct predecessor, with the mooted iPhone 6 tipped to be the next radically redesigned Apple smartphone.
An annual hit that is eagerly awaited throughout the year, the iPhone 5S release date has been teased as lining up sooner than expected with Apple reportedly shifting to a six month product cycle in order to retaliate to the recent Google Nexus 4 launch and expected April 2013 Samsung Galaxy S4 release date.
Adding fuel to the iPhone 5 rumours fire, Chinese news sources last month suggested that Apple had pushed forward its iPhone 5S release date plans in a bid to curb frustration in continued iPhone 5 stock shortages and shipping delays. The Commercial Times reported that "facing low yield rates in the production of iPhone 5, Apple has accelerated the certification processes for related parts and components for the iPhone 5S."
Adding that the iPhone 5S specs sheet would see Apple include a selection of hardware features the company had wished to incorporate within the iPhone 5 but could not implement in time, CT sources suggested that an iPhone 5S release date had been scheduled for “Q1 2013.”
