Check out the demo for the System Shock remake

The remake for System Shock is now live on Kickstarter, and you can play the demo on PC right now.

Night Dive Studios has launched a crowdfunding campaign to remake the original System Shock for PC and Xbox One.

“After two decades, we are remastering and re-imagining the original System Shock,” states the official website. “We will keep the new game true to the classic experience, keeping all the things you loved, while updating the user interface and graphics to use a modern day engine (Unity). With the help of the original concept artist, the original vision of the Citadel Station and its inhabitants will finally come back to life.”

The developer hopes to raise a minimum of $900,000 to create the game, and has already made over $370,000 from fan pledges after launching the campaign yesterday.

Playable demos for projects such as this are normally restricted to backer rewards, but anyone can play a short demo for System Shock so long as they have a decent PC.

Night Dive Studios has released an early alpha demo for the game that is now downloadable from GOG, Humble Store, and Steam.

System Shock is planned for an Xbox One and Windows release, with ports for other platforms planned as stretch goals for the Kickstarter.
