Champions League Live Stream: How to watch the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League online

Believe it or not, the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League is already underway. Want to watch all the action? Here’s how to live stream Europe’s premier continental football tournament on PC, Mac, iPhone, Android phones, and tablets.

Just a few weeks after Euro 2016 ended with a frankly underwhelming Portugal victory, the 2016/17 Champions League is already underway. The qualifying rounds feature little of British interest beyond the participation of reigning Scottish champions Celtic.

But things will heat up in the coming weeks and months, when Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and – wait for it! – Leicester City get their respective Champions League campaigns underway and bid to dislodge current holders Real Madrid.

The competition runs until June 3 2017, when the final will be held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

At present, BT Sport owns exclusive rights to the Champions League in the UK and will be airing coverage on its BT Sport Europe channel.

That means to watch the Champions League online you’ll need to be a BT Sport subscriber. If that’s you, just head to the BT Sport website and fire up the channel of your choice – we’ll provide a full viewing guide for UK relevant fixtures after the draw for the Group Stages has taken place on August 25.

In the meantime, you can see what’s on BT Sport here or check out UEFA’s guide to the 2016/17 Champions League for a full match calendar.

On-the-go Champions League viewing is a bit trickier, but not by much. If you have access to BT Sport, all you need to do is download the BT Sport app on your smartphone or tablet, login using your BT ID, and you’re away.

It’s available for Android and iOS, as well as on Windows 10 phones in a more limited form.

Now, we haven’t touched on how to watch the Champions League online for free, mainly because there isn’t really a way. Or is there?

If you live in the UK and count EE as your mobile provider, there actually is – hit the link below for step-by-step instructions on how to activate free BT Sport if you’re an EE subscriber.
