Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta release, multiplayer trailer, exclusive PSVR content revealed

Activision has announced a flurry of huge news relating to the forthcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare release

During the Call of Duty XP event in LA, the company announced the release date for the beta, revealed an exclusive experience for PSVR and premiered a new multiplayer trailer.

First up, those who’ve pre-ordered the space-based FPS will be able to take it for a spin from October 14.

PS4 gamers have first dibs, followed by Xbox One owners. There’s no word yet on a PC beta yet.

In another significant development, Activision also revealed a new experience exclusively designed for the PlayStation VR headset. Jackal Assault will be free for all PS4 Infinite Warfare players. Here’s a snap (credit:VentureBeat).

Finally, in more good news for pre-order customers, Activision revealed the remastered edition of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will feature all 16 maps from the original game.

At the Call of Duty XP event in LA, the publisher announced it is going beyond the 10 campaign maps and will be adding 6 multiplayer maps.

Those additional maps will arrive as an update after the remaster is released, but Activision is yet to confirm a date.

The Modern Warfare remaster resurrects one of the most popular games in franchise history and will be available as a bonus for those who purchase certain versions of Infinite Warfare.

Infinite Warfare itself goes on sale on November 4.
