Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release date confirmed

It’s time to mark November 6 in your diary, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release date has been confirmed.

Echoing past additions to the dominant Call of Duty franchise, the first Black Ops 3 gameplay trailer has confirmed the eagerly awaited game will hit global retailers in early November.

Unlike recent offerings, such as Advanced Warfare and Modern Warfare 3, however, Black Ops 3 will see publisher Activision switch from its usual Tuesday release.

Instead, the game’s November 6 arrival will see the title touch down on a Friday, no doubt filling gamers’ weekends.

Once again riffing on the possibilities of the future of war, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be set in the near future, allowing developer Treyarch to play with the capabilities of future weaponry.

Weapons don’t have instinct. Weapons don’t have loyalty. Weapons don’t have judgement. Soldiers do,” the trailer states.

“What happens when the soldier becomes the weapon? How far can we push technology before it starts pushing back?”

Building on this theme, Black Ops 3’s multiplayer mode won’t see gamers play as standard soldiers.

Instead, you’ll be able to select a specialist soldier, with each specialist boasting their own unique weapon and power.
